HOW I MAKE MY GOALS REALITY

"Be stubborn about your goals,
 but flexible about your methods."

Lately I've been living in this lazy, unproductive storm and it's been doing nothing but melt my brain. I lost touch with my motivation and determination and I want to get it back so I thought of things I could do to fill up my free time with productivity. While doing that I thought of how I could maintain that motivation i'm craving, and how to be sure I actually do get off my butt and do something.

I came up with ways to make sure I'll achieve my goals and be proactive. I thought I would share them with you so together we can finally stop sitting around saying "I wish I was good at this" or "I wish I could do something like that".

Be S.M.A.R.T

The first step is to sit down and think of what you want to achieve. Think about what makes you feel excited, what you really want to do. There are two things I want to take up this summer while I have the time before school starts up again: the guitar and calligraphy. Both of those are definitely hands on and goals that are attainable but at a slow pace, which requires patience. I found one of the best ways to make sure your goal is gold is to use the S.M.A.R.T method.

Specific
Measurable
Attainable
Realistic
Timely

If you know your goal is those 5 things, then you're good to go!

Set tasks

For every goal, I like writing down little tasks that will eventually lead me to my big goal. So it's great to break down your goal into smaller tasks that you can tackle every day. Also make sure your tasks are S.M.A.R.T! Achieving your daily tasks will fuel you with motivation that will keep you going.

Give yourself credit

Celebrate the littlest tasks! Regroup after a week and see the progress you've made. I like documenting my progress by hanging up my calligraphy pieces on my walls so I can visualize the areas I've improved in. On the days where tasks are a little harder to accomplish or if you simply don't feel motivated one day and decide to skip a task, remember that off days are necessary and that it doesn't automatically make you a failure. Don't be scared to show your friends and family the work you've been doing! Manifest it, put it out there!

Trust yourself

Something I've struggled with is letting things happen. When things don't go as planned or when things don't go fast enough for your liking, sit back and trust that you will eventually get to your final goal. The path you initially visualize for yourself will definitely not be the path you will actually take. Try to trust that whatever happens is crucial for your success.

Have fun

Let yourself be totally submerged in your tasks, bask in your motivation and the high of taking on a new project. Share your success with your loved ones and be proud of yourself!! Celebrate your success with yourself!

It'd be so great if we could support and encourage each other with our goals and projects so feel free to leave a comment below and share with our what are your summer goals, your current projects you've been working on or bigger goals that your want to achieve in 5 years!
