5 WAYS YOU SHOULD USE COCONUT OIL

#coconutoil4prez

Coconut oil is a gift to this earth. It can be used for practically anything, you can find lists online of 100+ things you can use it for. This is what I love it most for. This one ingredient can replace many other items around your house which makes things easier! 4 of the numerous benefits of this oil are:

improving skin conditions like eczema, rosacea, and acne
providing drug-free performance energy
preserves muscle mass
conditions and strengthens hair

1. Cooking

This one is the obvious one, but still as great as those that'll follow. It's a great substitute for the oils you would use to cook your food.

2. Moisturizer

I was a little hesitant at first because lathering oil all over my face and body didn't sound appealing at all until I decided to give it a try despite my concerns. The oil surprisingly seeps into your skin quickly and it feels wonderful. You can use it for literally anything! You can put some on your face before bed and use it as a night cream, or use it as a lip balm, or on your dry elbows, feet, legs!

3. Makeup Remover

Not only can you use coconut oil as a full body moisturizer, you can also use it to take off the makeup off your face. It's much less toxic than your average makeup remover and does the same, if not better, job of removing your makeup without being harsh on the skin. You can also use coconut oil as a secondary oil if you do the oil cleansing method. I made a whole post about it if you would like to check it out. You can put some of the oil on a cotton pad and gently clean your face or simply rub the oil directly onto your skin and rinse it off. The oil will gently break down the dirt and grime and leave you with clean and moisturized skin.

4. Prevent Chaffing

Say goodbye to that tub of baby powder you carry around in your summer bag and say hello to your new best friend! Use a teaspoon to a tablespoon of oil, warm it up in your hands, and rub it on the problem area. The oil will prevent chaffing while moisturizing and nourishing your skin, instead of simply creating a small barrier on top of your skin like the baby powder would.

5. Hair growth

You can consistently use the oil on your eyebrows and scalp to encourage growth. It's a great way to grow your hair as naturally as possible. You might not see results overnight but definitely within weeks. Simply use a pea size amount and massage onto your eyebrows. You can let it sit overnight or leave it for 15 to 30 minutes and wipe the excess oil afterwards. For your scalp, you can lather your hair in the oil and leave it, again, overnight or let it sit while you shower and rinse it off with cold water. The oil also helps with dandruff as well, and gives your hair a natural shine that your hair stylist will be fawning over.
